We don't have a wedding planner (something I keep seeing on TV but have never seen in real life) so we're planning this wedding ourselves. Well, by 'ourselves' I mean the two of us and the selfless help of our bridal party, family, and internet wedding planning websites. Already the wedding has gone from 75 to 30 people and my wedding dress choice changed the theme of the whole wedding, twice. Clearly things won't be static throughout the planning, but that's half the fun, right?
I'm reading wedding websites, etiquette books, and magazines. I'm watching tv shows about wedding planning, and movies about weddings. I'm the first of all my friends to get married, and the only wedding I've been to was a very informal affair. Beautiful, but nothing like the traditional wedding we are hoping to have.
That's not to say that out wedding is going to be completely old school. I have three bridesmaids, two of which are male, and in comparison, Bradley has a best man only. Also, our dog is going to be the ring bear.
Like every other bride and groom, we want the wedding to be uniquely our own. So, every step of the planning way, we're going to do our best to make it just that.
Written February 23, 2017, 1 month and 23 days from the wedding.
